A decade of helping people cope better

I’m not a gushing person, but it is with a ripple of pride that I am writing this post.

Why? Because this month marks the 10th anniversary of Birkdale Hypnotherapy. When I started my Hypnotherapy Training in 2012, I had no idea that I would be here, ten years later, helping clients, training and supervising other hypnotherapists, but I am.

Learning, and more learning

Since graduating from CPHT Manchester, I had to learn how to run a business all those years ago. I never lacked enthusiasm, but I certainly didn’t have a well thought-out plan for where I was going. My success is down to my clients; they all (well, most) turned up for their appointments, took on my ideas and followed my direction. Most importantly, they got better and I was and still am, thrilled.

So, it’s a big thank you to you all (you know who you are).

No doubt running a small business requires determination, dedication and tenacity. So, while I celebrate my ten year milestone, I think it’s a thumbs up to all the graduates I have taught and supervised as we navigated the globe of hypnotherapy and business life together.

Together

And to those I work with, Charlotte, Karen, John, Jen, Sophia and Trevor, as we push forward with teaching, marketing and podcasting. I offer my gratitude and thanks. Being surrounded and supported by such a great team, makes me feel so lucky.

Gems of time

I’d like to take this opportunity to share these thoughts

  1. Other people determine your success, so treat everyone with respect
  2. Every person has skills and resources (sometimes hidden) but never to be underestimated, but always to be explored
  3. Let people be themselves; individuality is to be celebrated
  4. Don’t wait for motivation to arrive – just get on with it (my poor students have heard this phrase more than once)
  5. Do stuff that makes you happy; you might have to give it some creative thought.

So, to my clients, my colleagues, my students and supervisees – thank you

And to those of you I have yet to work with – let’s not waste any time and dive in.
